Pepin Cocktail by Emil Åreng

Emil Åreng is the Bar Manager at the Open/Closed Bar in Umeå, Sweden.

Åreng represented Sweden at the World Class Bartender of the Year final, in 2013. Now he’s set his sights on the Bacardi Legacy Global Cocktail Competition, in Sydney on May 1-3. We were very impressed with his submission and wanted to share it. We are hoping that he will be in Sydney, along with our friend Xaris Darras, of Athens.

The Pepin Cocktail is Emil Åreng’s fantastic submission into the Bacardi Legacy 2015 competition.

In his own words, “The cocktail is all about Pepin Bosch, the legendary president for Bacardi, that had to work in silence. Now is time to tell the world what he did, all revealed in this cocktail.”

“To show how easy this cocktail is to make, we travelled to Kristineberg, about 150 km from Umeå. It is one of the deepest active mines in Sweden. We wanted to show that if can you do this cocktail in a bloody mine, you can do it anywhere in the world.”

“I did a lot of running and as you can see in the movie I am very well-trained” | Emil actually chose bartending over a career in the military, so we believe that he can handle tough conditions.

“I will reveal the full story at the Nordic Bacardi Legacy Finals in Copenhagen the 27th of January.”

“This is the movie that I made, with Pro Snowboarder Anton Gun, for the Bacardi Legacy 2015 competition. A fun video that is unlike other cocktail movies that you’ll see today.” – Emil Åreng
